Every time I see the razzies mentioned I’m surprised we’re still doing this lol

Also, this is clearly most often about taking famous people down a peg or hoping to get a big name to show up like Halle Berry did bc while Disney’s Pinocchio didn’t work for me, that Pauly Shore Pinocchio was obviously the weakest of the 3 that came out this year. Although I’m realizing I don’t think I like any Tom Hanks movie where he puts on an accent lol

The razzies are a pay to nominate/ vote type of deal, so anyone with $40 can nominate whoever they want. They are always all over the place, like this year nominating a child.

They just like getting a rise out of people. They nominated stanley kubrick for worst director for the shining, which he might have deserved for a different reason other than the movie being bad, but still.

Tbf, The Shining took a beating from critics when it first came out. It wasn't recognized as a classic until years later

these should’ve ended after Sandra Bullock showed up in person to collect her Razzie in the middle of sweeping awards season for The Blind Side. like it’s just an unfunny bit at this point, like oh you’re gonna nominate a movie that no one watched bc it includes easy targets like Pete Davidson? you’re gonna nominate a 12 year old kid for worst actress? so fucking dumb.

They also clearly nominated Pete and MGK together with the hopes they would show up together and generate buzz for their lame ass show.
