Hopefully, the new DCU slate gets announced sooner rather than later because trying to make sense of any of this is impossible.

Having too many Batmen around will confuse the casual moviegoer (according to WB/DC apparently) but recasting Jason as a different character won't? Or keeping him as Aquaman when there's going to be a new Superman and (possibly) Wonder Woman?

If you're going to reboot parts, just reboot everything. It's cleaner and makes more sense.

iirc they're supposed to announce some concrete plans before Jan is over but that would require DC having its shit together.

Yeah, I think Gunn is still saying something will be announced before the month is out but I don't think it'll be a full slate and all of the decisions. They're not going to say anything that risks sinking the movies due out this year.

He wrote the treatment? Is that why it turned into a buddy cop movie where Mera is relegated to a [Spoiler (click to open)]pregnant damsel and whatshisname killed off screen? Allegedly.

I’m so tired of men deluding themselves into thinking DC movies are good movies. Let it go. Move on to something else. Sue for making them waste your time, if possible though…

While I didn't care for it, Aquaman was the only DCEU movie to reach $1B.

Going from lead and main member of the Justice League to third-rate Superman villain and painting it as a win is ridiculous... the less said about the cringy lines Gunn would write for the character, the better. Jason being cast as Aquaman was such a moment too, and directly inspired Feige to bring Black Panther into the MCU, so it's bittersweet that it would end up like this - especially with some people hoping that a future casting for Aquaman would be "more accurate" or "less weird." (Hmmmm.™)

And if he's playing both, then it's just as messy and stupid.
