Old men love to play games too. My experience is off the apps. I was hooking up with men around my age and older when I was in my early and mid-20s. Even when I made it clear I was only interested in sex men, regardless of age, would "play games".

My friends now in their early 30s using apps to meet men their age or older don't seem to have much luck. Slim pickings out there.

Yeah as someone who has only wanted something casual for most of my adult dating life it has still been way, way more exhausting then it ever needed to be because of men’s bullshit (and, to be fair, me being autistic and never being able to tell what flavor of bullshit I’m dealing with until way past the point other people might lol)

I think many men want to have some sense of power to feel validated. I was always very upfront about my expectations and I believe the majority of the men I briefly saw during this period were also not interested in anything beyond sex. However, they would often say or do things that had no other purpose than to elicit a negative reaction from me. I guess if I continued to pursue them that would make them feel wanted? Why can't it just be simple? I just wanted to to have sex occasionally.

I would immediately cut contact once that happened. Some of these men really went out of their way to follow up after the fact. This past November one guy I stopped contacting in 2016 managed to find out where I worked (different state, different coast) and sent an apology to my work e-mail that when boiled down to its core was a "wyd" text. I would laugh if I didn't think it was creepy af.

Irl most accomplished me with real wealth don't go for 20somethings bc they know that looks ridiculous and could actually not be great for their rep and future possible. business ventures.
