Don't be afraid to sue a business, y'all. I worked for a place that was sued and while it was a little stressful (had to testify), that's what the insurance was for.

Yeah, the case I was involved in was.... weird. The insurance company was going to pay for the surgery she said she needed, but she and her husband would only settle for 20x that amount. So it went on for, like, six years and she ended up getting nothing. It came out during the trial that she'd apparently scheduled that surgery before the incident?

I sometimes wonder if they heard about the incident at another location that resulted in a large payout, but that was a slip and fall involving an infant and was just fucking terrible.

IDK, I disagree that people should not sue for minor injuries. If a city/business was negligent, they should be held accountable. Also, even minor injuries can result in lost wages for people who may not have sick time to use for recovery.

I don't think op was patronizing her or short people. Those lighting equipment weight a ton. They're capable of seriously harming someone taller and who weighted twice her size so it's a miracle her injuries weren't extremely worse.
