But it’s OK to love ‘Buffy’ for what we created because I think it’s pretty spectacular.
I really appreciate this, though, as somebody who found Buffy as a pre-teen and felt really emotionally tied to it in my most formative years.

Same here. I love the show & am not a fan of people now changing their mind about it because they no longer like Whedon.

Fuck Marti Noxon for trying to figure her own abuse that she did on her boyfriend and using it as a map for spike and Buffy.

I'm a completist so I bought the DVDs for S6 and S7 when they came out but I really had no intention of watching those seasons again. A few years after the show ended, I did a complete rewatch of BtVS and AtS. I thought that maybe with some distance, I would like S6 and S7 better but nope. I did one more complete rewatch about 10 years ago and came to the same conclusion. Now I've just accepted that I can do a rewatch through S5 and then pick a few episodes from S6 and S7 (OMWF, Tabula Rasa, and sometimes random episodes like Storyteller).

True, but yeah I’d argue that it was truly the cast members that made this show great considering they are the ones that brought it to life. Had it been a different cast, the show would have flopped.
I just don’t want to give that fucker so much credit lol

I’ve been listening to the Smallville podcast, and Tom Welling has said a few times that he would not be able to now do the show with the full awareness of the pressure it is to be the main character in practically every scene.
It made me think of SMG, and of how Freddie said that one of the points where he realised he was falling for her was when he noticed how tired and overworked she seemed and he wanted to take care of her.
There were whole strings of episodes where you can tell she’s working through a head cold.
She honestly kind of doesn’t need to say much more about Whedon, I feel like we can all connect the dots on our own.
