don't believe for a second that Lily actually feels bad when she's reaping in the acclaim. She wanted to get Pam's approval to make it all appear okay and maybe silence the quiet teeny-tiny voice in her head
whatever Lily's motivations, it was never for Pam's benefit
Hard agree. Her, Stan, Ryan Murphy and Peters are just glad handing themselves, getting nominated and very happy about it but then pull the "oh I care about the real life people..." bs AFTER the fact.
Especially considering the victims NEVER wanted this shit made.
Pam is nicer than I would be, I would have publicly told her and the entire production to fuck themselves.
Has anyone already watched this series? Does it glamourize abuse? I wish there were a legal way for celebs/or their families to approve or not this type of biopic, I mean its their life
It's been a while since I've watched it now but it felt like they spent way more effort trying to make the viewers sympathize with Rand Gauthier (Seth Rogan), a.k.a. the thief/one of the contractors, than it did on Pamela
( ... )
I mostly agree with this though I do think that it did show the fallout of Barb Wire being a flop which it was without good reason, I don't think that would have happened if it hadn't been for the sex tape and marketing being pulled back - and subsequently Pamela's career not being what it could've been. I think they showed her frustration with Baywatch at the time very well and her being ready to move on to other things and that her agent had offers in the pipeline that subequently dried up due to the sex tape.
don't know how accurate Lily's portrayal was, since I've never seen any of Pamela's workI have seen Anderson in lots of things... yes, some Baywatch episodes, I watched Barb Wire, but mostly V.I.P. and my favourite Stacked so I will say going by that Lily's portrayal was rather accurate

It absolutely enrages me that they have the fucking nerve to claim they were giving her a voice. They were totally ignoring her voice. On so many levels they re-enacted the exact same violations while adding new levels of non-consent to them and they claim they did it all to honour her. Give me a fucking break.
I think that pissed me off the most. She wants nothing to do with it (BIG RED FUCKING FLAG this is not a good idea to make a film about someone's trauma - especially who is still alive).
AND then they had the audacity to pull the 'it will be good for her... we're gonna be her voice' despite the fact that she just told you she doesn't want you to speak for her.
Fuck everyone involved in this and then to go out parading at the awards shows. It was all about them and no one else.
