So far none of the current Harleys have been giving me the iconic accent. Margot tries but I've never been a big fan of her Harley, it's only in tiny moments that I see but never follows through. Kaley Cuoco doesn't even try in DC Harley Quinn.
The original cartoons were better. I'm kinda hoping Gaga gives me something cause I know I'm gonna get the overdramatic/camp acting. But Gaga does have the advantage of being a native New Yorker compared to the previous so I can have some hope here.

They don't go into as many descriptions about setting like audiobooks do and some use audio cues to let you know what's happening, like a door opening/closing or a car starting. Not to mention, it's not like "Jack walked to the counter and asked, "Do you like coffee?" Nora said, "Yes."" It would be the Jack's actor saying "Do you like coffee?" then Nora's actor would say "Yes." They usually have a bigger cast compared to audiobooks. In the past audiobooks have tended to be one person doing all the voices, while audiodramas/comedies tend to have different people. What I'm saying isn't true for all of them, but if you don't like that audiobooks, you can certainly find audiodrama/comedies like that.
I feel like I'm in the olden days listening to a show on the radio, lol.

I'm hoping this is a cool middle ground I can sink my teeth into but I need a good recommendation.

One of my absolute favorites that I don't see talked about too much is Ars Paradoxica, about a physicist who accidentally time travels back to the cold war. Alice Isn't Dead is a shorter one about a trucker searching for her wife, although it does get pretty scary at times. Wolf 359 starts as The Office in space for a few episodes, which I don't love, but if you get through those it becomes one of the best stories I've ever heard.
I'll end with the Magnus Archives, which is well written, very scary horror on an episodic basis with a well done over arching story line.
I can elaborate, but these ones are always at the top of my personal lists.
