The novel, which was released in 2017, was the first YA novel with queer Latinx characters to hit No. 1 on the New York Times bestsellers list.

i picked up aristotle and dante on a whim a few years ago and i cried like a baby lol. it would be a good property to adapt into a movie considering gen z's interest in the 80s, kinda surprised it hasn't happened yet.

I think the rights were acquired but the studio hadn't been set, the producers, etc.

i thought the book was pretty nice! although i found the ending a little cringe lol - i’m a little surprised they’re making it a series (miniseries, i guess?) instead of a movie but either way - i’ll prob watch!

also, always here for san benito. :)

lol i really didn't like this book. it dragged badly (well duh, 300-ish pages about a single day??) and the AAVE was awkward. like the grammar didn't make sense to me. this was. DNF for me.
