Just a reminder:

"[Ex-wife Sonny] Pacheco [born 1991] maintains that after a night of hard partying last November, including drinking and cocaine use, Renner [born 1971] returned home where he allegedly threatened her with a gun and put the gun in his mouth. He reportedly said at the time that he “could not deal with her anymore, and he just wanted to be gone.” In another instance, Pacheco says, a nanny overheard Renner say he planned to kill her and himself because “it was better that Ava had no parents than to have [Pacheco] as a mother.”

At least I don’t need the notes feature from a paid account for my mental note on you.

Yikes--didn't know Renner had any stans! What a hill to die on.

Not a stan. I just don’t get the point of posts like this. They do nothing for people except posting triggering comments in an already tragic situation.

"Orthopedic injuries" is so scarily vague, I think really he's completely lost a leg just going by all the information that's been released so far and given what actually ran him over.

ITA and I say this as a trauma ICU nurse. We get patients like this all the time. If he just broke a leg, they'd just say that.

Yeah, I noticed the details of the surgery were unspecified and not to jump to conclusions but I can't imagine how anyone could have survived that impact with both legs intact

This is why I get mad when I see companies throwing employees out on a Ditch Witch with clearly minimal training. It's begging for a tragedy to happen.

Wishing him the best. I also really hope he lost consciousness immediately because I cannot fathom living with that traumatic memory.

Our brains are luckily pretty good at blocking out pain and trauma like that, especially considering the reports of severe blood loss.
Idk why but whenever you’re in the hospital after a traumatic injury or illness it never seems that big a deal at the time, it’s once you’ve been discharged from the hospital when the long term recovery takes place that your brain starts to fuck with you and all the processing of it all takes place

That's kind of interesting, I wonder if this is because of Maslow's pyramid - when in the hospital the most important thing is getting well enough to leave it, so there isn't any room in the brain for processing the aftermath yet?

A couple of years ago, I got hit by a car. Luckily, I only had an ankle sprain, but the last thing I remember is the sound of the car hitting me, I have no idea how it actually hit me. The next thing I remember is me being on the floor and people on the street around me

My grandma called me this morning to tell me "Captain America was crushed by a tractor!"

It took me a minute to figure out this is what she was talking about and that tragedy hadn't befallen yet another Avenger.
