I watched Aftersun last night and it was devastating. Paul Mescal deserves some recognition he was really good in it. As was the little girl playing Sophie.

I’m just waiting for some movies to hit vod at this point lol.

They were both so good, but yeah, Paul was fantastic. He has three-ish films coming out in 2023 and they all sound so different, I can't wait to see them.

I was supposed to watch it on Monday but I got stuck @ work so I'm hoping I'll be able to watch it tonight. Devastating is a good way to prepare me, I've got the tissues ready now lol

I saw Puss in Boots and when it's existential about one's ~legacy and the end of life, it's surprisingly good. The rest is pretty fun too!

Saw Women Talking at AFI Fest, and it was.... fine? I guess was expecting more, idk. I liked Rooney Mara a lot, though. I can't imagine it's gonna do well considering the current box office climate for adult dramas.

Lots of stuff I want to go see when we get back from Christmas: Puss in Boots, Babylon, IWDWS, Living, and Corsage are all on the list. And I'm definitely gonna watch Matilda at some point.

I didn't love the script for her character, but she committed pretty hard! More fiery than I've seen her in the past, but to me, it rang a little hollow - however, I've seen others say she's the highlight, so maybe it just didn't work for me specifically.

I’ll be watching Glass Onion and Matilda on Netflix, plus making mental note for The Pale Blue Eye because I love Edgar Allen Poe.

Variety has a Director on Director video of Joe Kosinski (Maverick) + Rian Johnson (Glass Onion) and it was interesting what Johnson shared about his process with writing, casting, filming etc. I’ve not seen GO yet and was glad I didn’t detect any obvious spoilers.

No plans for cinema.
