I mean, when I say 31 accents, I'm not exaggerating

you mean the same jersey accent she's done in at least 10 different movies at this point?

I appreciate her ambition

All her American accents sound the same to me

if i was in her position - MAYBE might get a nomination but there's 0% chance she's going to win anything - i just wouldn't bother with all this. what's the point? she's already a previous nominee, she doesn't need that moniker again

and there's no way she's not aware of the best actress race right now. it's a juggle between cate blanchett and michelle yeoh and whoever else fills the other spots (hoping danielle deadwyler's one because that would at least help her break through)

Iirc she's had her awards campaign team and strategy in place since early this year (according to some industry pods I listen to who were giving 2023 Oscar predictions like a week after the last ceremony). Agree that she shouldn't bother and maybe use that energy for next year, but 1) she's building a 'shes due' narrative for the future and another nom would help, and 2) she may be delusional enough to think she can will her way into it. I mean, Michelle Williams confoundingly moved herself to Best Actress despite having a clearer path in supporting. Ego and thirst. Margot has both.

sorry for butting in but i just have to recommend little gold men from vanity fair. it's a good awards season podcast even though sometimes they have takes that make me roll my eyes, and it's a year round weekly podcast so they also cover tv awards and film festivals and touch on stuff going on around the industry.

a lot of people like the next best picture podcast, but i personally find their takes dumb lol. there's one called the business that has in depth interviews with filmmakers,
