2022 was a great year for music! So great, in fact, that some artists just didn't get their time to shine. Well, that time is now! Let's take a listen to ten artists that created some of the best pop songs of 2022 that you've (probably) never heard.
1. Madison Rose - Technicolor (10k views)
Queer pop artist Madison Rose has released one of the best pop albums of 2022. Her musical style gives you equal doses of "now" & the pop music of the 2010's. In her 'Technicolor' music video, she shaves her head irl to represent shedding your old shades to uncover the new. Madison describes herself as a “rainbow girl against a storm cloud world”. We love self love!
2. Skofee - Quicksand (12k views)
A rising pop artist based on LA, Skofee's latest single 'Quicksand' really satisfies your 90's pop cravings. Describing herself as a "beverly hillbilly", Skofee (skō-fee) was born and raised in a Wichita Kansas home filled with bluegrass and folk music. A relatable song about hitting your breaking point, try not to let 'Quicksand' pull you under! It's highly addicting.
3. The APX, Uniiqu3 - Ima Be That (15k views)
The APX (Amplified Experiment) have really created something special with 'Ima Be That' with it's funky beats, addictive hooks, and sharp lyrics. They write and produce their own records, as well as direct and produce their own music videos. They've also been featured on Netflix, CBS, Buzzfeed, and Okay Player. Whew! The talent has truly jumped out. Stand up!

An 80's inspired track released by Toronto pop artist noelle, 'Cold Killer' really satiates my love for 80's pop music that will never go away (or go out of style imo). noelle was surrounded by music being raised on the reserve in the Tyendinage Mohawk territory in Ontario. 'Cold Killer' is about men having zero remorse when it comes to breaking hearts. Tale as old as time!
5. Bébe Yana - Space Mulan (52k views)
Debuting in 2012 with the girl group EvoL, we originally knew Bébe as 'Hayana' until EvoL's disbandment in 2015. She then had a successful solo career in 2017, until mysteriously going off-grid until 2021 when she reemerged as Bébe Yana. We love a rebrand! 'Space Mulan' is a luscious pop jam that feels like you're being injected into The Matrix. Red pill or blue pill?

Sappho is the solo project of Alpine's former vocalist Phoebe Baker. She says, "Sappho was born eating a mango in a volcano on a tropical island in the pacific. Sappho is in love with making music. Making music since he was 13 (so what is that like 5 years ago?), Riovaz is quickly becoming well known within the Gen Z Cinematic Universe. Writing and producing all of his music himself, Riovaz's distinct sound is a combo of pop, hip hop, and retro-synth. 'Tell Me Your Fears' has an addictive, dark-pop dance beat that you'll be eating up like candy, so pace yourself!

After she moved to LA at only 13, Claudia Valentina was writing songs with Johan Carlsson, a right-hand man to pop heavyweight Max Martin. An already in-demand song writer in the industry, next year could be major for Claudia!
