What's your album of the year?

Renaissance by the queen
Caprisongs by FKA Twigs
You Still here ho? by Florence Millicent

are all faves but I don't have a lot of albums in whole that I like. SOS by SZA is on the bubble tho.

Caprisongs was a v fun album from FKA. She seemed more carefree with it and the visuals

I only had two albums that I really liked more than a few songs this year. Renaissance and The Loneliest Time.

Most overrated w/o a doubt is Midnights.

tbf I think she spent all her creative energy directing Dylan O'Brien and Sadie Sink to do exactly what the lyrics of All too Well suggested they do. Anyone can film "metaphors," but what Taylor's critics are overlooking is that her lack of metaphor was by design; cinematic literalism IS her genius!

I'm excited for her to win her well-deserved Oscar so she can pursue the EGOT, especially a Tony. Imagine the fasting selling Broadway ticket of all-time is just people paying to listen to her attempting to sing live with no backing track.

it's definitely RENAISSANCE nothing else even comes close that album has pure crack in it. Beyonce is of my age group and she is showing it with the 90s rave vibes of that album and it is pure ecstasy

I also loved Rina Sawayama's album, it was all over the place but it was earnest and I appreciate that she was trying to do something conceptually even if all the songs didn't fully land for me

Midnights grew on me but would have been a disaster without the 3AM songs

edit: oh and a SHOUT OUT to both of GAYLE's EPs

I'm just getting into Rina now and she's incredible. I've had Hold the Girl in my head all day and This Hell is so, so good. ia the album was a little all over the place and some parts worked better than others but it was never boring for me b/c of that and a lot of it did work.
