Yeah, I was obsessed with makeup from being a young teen in the early 80s to about 5 years ago, but I’m over it now. There’s nothing new in colours, and anything I do really take to with regard to formulation gets discontinued (Revlon lip butters, Poppy King lipsticks back in the day, those little square NYX single eyeshadows, etc etc).
Yeah and since I've been wearing a mask at work every day since 2020, I'm usually just doing eyebrows/mascara and concealer under my eyes if I'm looking particularly dead.
I'm more into skincare these days but of course, my skin does better with washing + moisturiser only 🙄 ruining my fun. I did add a retinol though, so far it's not harming but I don't see results 🤷🏻♀️
@ fellow ONTDers who also give Lisa Eldridge too much of their money: I'm thinking of buying more Liquid Lurex eyeshadows to celebrate a promotion. And maybe also some more velvet lipsticks? So do you guys have any recommendations for favorite velvet lipsticks?
Affair & Blush are my absolute faves, Sorcery is on my wish list rn, I'm not big on reds but hers are so gorgeous, I do own Jazz and it's beautiful in winter
Muse is OK but I prefer the gloss version, idk why
I just got my very first Lisa Eldridge package! It was wrapped so fancy. I’m loving the velvet lipsticks. I got three: rain, intrigue, petal. I would love to order more, but I already paid $170 customs/duty on my $300 package.
does anyone have recommendations for a matte brown/neutrals eyeshadow palette? i'm darker skinned so i'm struggling to find palettes with a greater balance of mid/deep tones. i have most of the 35Os but they're mostly midtones on me. i'm trying to avoid buying from she-glam for obvious reasons.
the entire palette doesn't need to be matte obviously but i would like if there were mostly mattes
i really like the mattes from lethal cosmetics. their singles are pretty affordable and you get a discount if you buy them using their palette designer (you can get palettes with 4, 6, 9, 12 or more pans): https://www.lethalcosmetics.com/palette-designer/
What is your price point? I'd probably look towards BIPOC-owned brands bc their color stories will be better for your skin tone, Juvia's Place is worth a look, Coloured Raine, too--but you can always build your own palette with like MAC or something similar. The Fenty Snap shadows might be worth a look too.
I have the NARS Skin Deep palette which I absolutely love but I don't think it's made anymore.
i'm pretty sure it's literally butter. i saw people on the sephora sub talking about it, and how they were disappointed that it was like smearing literal butter on your lips. tasted like movie theater popcorn butter or something like that.
