I'm very partial to GDT, because even if the product isn't exactly the best I know i'm gonna go through a flood of emotions, because he puts a lot of love and thought to what he does and I have a good feeling this is no different so i'll check it out soon.

Just watched it & loved it! I will say the fascist storyline was a little poorly conceived, even though I think it was a great inclusion overall. [Spoiler (click to open)]I just didn't like the kid soldier camp part of the story, and Candlestick or whatever his name was felt throwaway. We didn't even figure out what happened to him after his dad died!

But this was a beautiful kid's movie with STUNNING animation & visuals (parts of it were very Remedios Varo), so I feel silly criticizing the plot too much. I teared up at the end. Loved it!! I need someone to make icons tbh

Obviously GDT's version is above and beyond the Disney live-action one but I find it fascinating we have two Pinocchio adaptations with almost the same unorthodox ending

I am a big, big sucker for the Pinocchio story for some reason and I loved this (while IA, I do think the Child Camp was a bit hamfisted in)
