isnt jlaw only 32? i mean i know hollywood always go for the new pretty young thing in her 20s but shes only 32 to compare the stress of acting as she gets older to viola davis... its why i wish it was michelle yeoh and viola instead.
(i havent watched the video yet, just commenting on the write up)

Viola and Michelle together woulda made more sense to me too, I would’ve preferred that, especially if they were talking about aging in Hollywood.

I feel like they did this to play up the mommy aspect for clicks. Pretty sure your average movie goer who’s not chronically online has no idea JLaw has a kid now, so drawing attention to that will get the vid more views.

Yeah it’d be much better with Michelle, two women of a certain age and also two women of color.

i think they paired them because of jlaw's history with The Hunger Games and Viola being in the prequel, but it's only touched on briefly in the interview

it clearly wasn't done maliciously and while I get it may seem disrespectful to a lot of actress who came before, the reality is that even WITH THEM female actresses are still hearing that they can't sell action films.

She might have meant one of, or perhaps in a certain context, but her point still stands. It's just annoying discourse for nothing.

I'm so over harsh contour on fair skinned people like what's happening in this thumbnail :( it could be bad lighting here but just... why!

viola is such a teacher. this was a beautiful discussion. they're both so well spoken and so gentle when speaking to each other.

the whole thing is great but the last 15 minutes are pretty magical. highly recommended.
