Here's the thing. If the incident with Rihanna was the ONLY time he had done something like that, if he had gotten extensive therapy and help after, and made attempts to be a better man, I could see saying that everyone deserves to learn and grow. HOWEVER, he has an extensive list of offenses, including physically assaulting his girlfriend after Rihanna, rape accusations, and noted public violent outrages, like on GMA (or whatever). He's been arrested and had his probation revoked more than one time. So this narrative they're trying to spin about his growth? Fuck you and fuck that

The way ppl (and it's not lost on me it's primarily black women) are going to bat for Chris from day 1 acting like he was wrongly persecuted. Not once did Chris show remorse, apologize, nor did any of the necessary work to change from within. Had he, we could have a different discussion.

These are the same people that have been defending R. Kelly and Cosby for FAR worse, so like 🙃

Generally speaking, I'm slightly more forgiving of people under 20 who do something truly awful and hurt someone but they really do have to atone for what they did

He's 33 now. He's done nothing but repeat the same patterns of abuse, and there are people who defend him to this day. It's baffling.

Ya so I had asked in the Kelly Rowland post if CB had ever shown remorse or grown because I really haven't paid him any attention to even know how violent his recent history has or hasn't been. And good lord, ONTD did not disappoint with the receipts.

Such a history of violence with this person. Not surprised given how he responded to the Rihanna situation. Never showed proper remorse, always viewed himself as a victim, minimized the wrongness of his actions, made excuses for himself. Just nothing to indicate a desire to change or recognize his own faults. Like even this year he was sued for drugging and raping a woman on a yacht, like wtf

I feel like it’s a mix of the “protect our own” mentality and the younger gen who seem to be purposely or unaware-ish of what he did cause he just so talented~~~~

Best part is he absolutely would not defend or help any of these ladies defending him.

I really feel for K because I feel like her abuse gets underplayed. Maybe it was because social media isn’t what it is now, but I remember reading about the things he did to her here but I don’t feel like it exploded news wise unless you were someone who keeps up with pop culture. It’s seems like people barely mention her when it comes to his abusive ways and I hate it for her.
