I never found Patrick Dempsey attractive but that one moment in So Close where he gently sings along in her ear for a second STILL makes my heart stop jfc

I still like to believe that they wrote it for Robert to sing to her but when Patrick couldn't sing they were like, 'eh, lets give it to the pop star singer and have him pretend like he knows this song'.

It's one of my favorite Menken/Schwartz songs, up there with If I Never Knew You.
