My partner is terrified of ghosts, and I don't believe in ghosts. Anyway, she was recently telling me how when she was younger (the adult end of the teens) she would tell the ghosts to leave her alone before she would go to sleep. She would shout, “don't come near me! don't try to read my mind”. That's when I learned she thinks ghosts can read her mind. Who am I to mock? I thought god was hanging out, reading mine so.

She will not watch a movie with ghosts, even friendly fucking ghosts. Like, a Hallmark style movie with a ghost? Nope. GHOST PUPPIES? Hell no to that too. It's so weird, but she's worried it'll give her nightmares.

maybe u can comfort her by telling her those weren't ghosts, they were simply demons trying to possess her. if u secretly film the convo it could make a great tiktok and boost ur followers

I'm sorry she has to go through that. Anxiety sucks.

is that a symptom of anxiety? Cause, if so, that explains my childhood

I'm not particularly sensitive to paranormal stuff but I had an unplanned dinner at a friend's house and when I was in the bathroom, I felt trapped in a way. And like someone was in there with me. I don't even know how to explain the sensation.

She told me her grandpa keeps a spirit and that it starts acting out at the same time every day, especially with new people around. Needless to say I've never been back there lmao.

It’s not as common now but also not unheard of in certain asian cultures :’) they believe it’ll bring them wealth and health/longevity

Omg sounds like a Toyol or something! I don't fuck with Malay ghosts AT ALL, like western and East Asian ghosts no longer have any effect on me but that shit still gives me the creeps

never had an encounter so I must not be sensitive to the paranormal, morbidly curious though. I’ve seen enough Supernatural to wrangle a non-corporeal bitch!

No joke, Supernatural is the reason that I'm no longer terrified of scary films. LMAO

So it’s the late 90’s and my then-bff tells me her house is haunted and every night a ghost comes into her bedroom and does stuff to her. I believed her, so did our other bff. We slept over her house a lot to “keep her safe.” She seemed to be calm when we were in her room.

If we had today’s internet back then, we’d know that she had sleep paralysis and that was caused by all of the other sleeping issues she dealt with.

She also had sleep apnea, would sleep walk (she would eat in her sleep- go into the kitchen and make herself a bowel of cereal), and would fall asleep in class in like 2 minutes. Teachers accused her of being a drug addict. We were good kids, she didn’t even drink or smoke pot.

A bowel of cereal. I know it’s a typo, but it killed me, and I appreciate the laugh 😁

is your friend me?? LOL a teacher in high school once arranged a meeting with my parents because she believed i was on drugs, purely because i would doze off in classes so easily. i still have that issue, i can fall asleep anywhere at any time and it's why i try to avoid driving for more than an hour (and if i have to, then i avoid the highways/go through towns so that the variety on the road keeps me awake). don't know what causes it. i do have iron deficiency but that's all i'm aware of.

ive never made a meal for myself in my sleep, but i do get up and get a drink. every time it freaks out my girlfriend, but of course i can't remember doing it myself. i also sometimes stare her down while i'm sleeping and when she talks to me/waves at me i don't respond until i eventually close my eyes. don't ever remember that either.
