ngl, as I'd never really followed her life outside of Stranger Things I thought she was American this whole time and was surprised to hear her actual accent in some recent interview. She is definitely better than a lot of actors who seem to default to Brooklyn gangster or Foghorn Leghorn when tasked to play American characters.
