it's a different feel than the OG. I like it so far but it takes an episode or two to find the proper footing.

Finish the OG GG. The final season was bonkers, but it's funny.

Honestly, I'm glad they're going a season per semester, so that potentially they can be in high school for at least four seasons (which they should end after tbh). The OG jumping into college by season 3 absolutely TANKED the quality of the show imo.

That was me saying they look too old to be in HS still 😂

They need to up the camp, up the melodrama, and try to create more iconic moments. I think the show has potential but season one was mostly so boring and nothing truly iconic happened at all, whereas the predecessor had several iconic moments in its first season alone, despite also being a mess lol. Still, I'll be watching season two!

Also, weird gripe: the sound mixing was really bizarre. There were certain scenes where they should have been background noise but there was NONE and it was jarring. Especially in quite literally the noisiest city in the world lol.

Why are all the scenes so dark? Do they not know what a reflector is?

that's just TV in general these days. Darkness everywhere

I hate it. Even Riverdale is too damn dark now; they use to have gorgeous lighting in the earlier seasons. It's like people don't know how to light anymore.

I think that's what's bugging me about the reboot; the OG GG was always so brightly lit; they knew they were a campy teen soap opera and they went out of their way to showcase Manhattan as a character. The reboot doesn't even have decent b-rolls, and when they do, we can't see shit! The show takes itself way too serious and sucked all the fun out of it.

Seasons 2 + 3 of Riverdale had such good cinematography tbh
