it's definitely the lack of acting skills for me. it's mind boggling that netflix offered him the sherlock holmes role. he didn't even ask or audition. wtf made them think of him lmfaoo like im genuinely wondering.
Millie Bobby Brown, 18, and Henry Cavill, 39, play a brother-sister duo in “Enola Holmes 2,” out Friday on Netflix. Brown had no problem forging a bond with the “Man of Steel” star despite their age difference.
“With Henry, it feels like a real adult relationship. Like a really good friendship, a really healthy one. One that we have terms and conditions,” Brown told Deadline.
“I know Henry. He has terms and conditions with me. I’m not allowed to ask about his personal life. It’s like, ‘Millie, shut up. No.’ And I’m like, ‘Understood.'”
It’s a different type of relationship than the ones she shares with her “Stranger Things” co-stars, including Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo and Noah Schnapp.
Brown and Schnapp have a pact that they will get married if they’re 40 years old and single. Brown is dating Jon Bon Jovi’s 20-year-old son, Jake Bongiovi.
Honestly, good for her, even if I feel like her wording is weird. It took me a while to learn that being besties with people on the job added way more drama to my life than I needed.
people aren't gonna read beyond the title but this is actually healthy that he wants to have a professional relationship and not discuss his personal life with her
Henry understands work friends are different from friend friends. Millie is young and has worked with people her own age for so many years, and may not fully understand the distinction yet. Good for Henry for establishing those boundaries.
Article isn't as bad as the headline. She compares her "friendship" with him to the ones she has with her Stranger Things castmates, as in Cavill enforces boundaries, and he isn't interested in sharing his personal life or details about it with her, but she grew up with the Stranger Things kids and they're more like siblings and they share personal details with one another. The "adult relationship" comment is weird, but she definitely has a complex about sounding older and more mature than she is.
I don't think it's weird at all. As an old, there are boundaries I have with younger people I work with that I don't have with my older peers. I think what she means by this is that it's professional in nature and while they get on in that aspect they aren't digging in each other's personal business the way she would be with her ST workmates.
oh she absolutely has a complex about it, based on things she's said before about being told by a high profile female casting director that she was "too mature" for a role she auditioned for - my theory is it was Nina Gold for The BFG, that had a lead role for a child her age at the time and came out when she was 12.
She was actually a rather precocious/mature kid but that's not the same as being an adult, and shouldn't be treated the same way (and neither should she have been shit on for not acting like everyone's idea of what a kid should be). Her older costars on Stranger Things/Cavill seem to understand that, based on what she's said here.
