my netflix has been weird this week and every time i try to play unsolved mysteries, it's just a black screen with sound. but other stuff works! this is my mystery.

so anyway, i haven't watched these eps yet unfortunately but i'm really disappointed with what i've seen of this season. i'm sure there are way more interesting unsolved cases then most of what they showed. i don't mind the paranormal stuff (the original did it too) but the suicide case really pissed me off and i've been side-eyeing every ep since then.

ok my netflix is working now so i did watch the body in the bay ep. this might be hypocritical since i hated the teen who was killed by a train ep, but i don't think this boat one was a suicide. i should google to see what info they left out though, since they always do

Are the ghost eps of the new UM seasons good?

I'm not really into the true crime eps but here for the supernatural/spooky ones.

I really enjoyed the ghost episode because it also tied in another unsolved murder. I would give it a try!

It feels like a lot of the cases this season are sadly families that just can’t accept or move on from their loved ones tragedies. Really missing the actual ‘unsolved’ and ‘mystery’ aspects of the show.

I definitely agree. The entire episode about Tiffany Valiante was so sad because her family was so obsessed with proving that someone killed her that they were stuck in a permanent limbo. Even if they had been able to get the cause of death changed, it would likely be changed to accidental or death by misadventure.

And even if they got law enforcement to recognize it as a suspicious death - then what? They had no suspects, no evidence that would link a suspect to her; their quest broke my heart because even their best case scenario leaves them fixated on her death forever. That's a pain I wouldn't wish on the worst people in the world.

I am not judging people's grief process but I could NEVER come home every day to a huge blanket of pictures of my deceased daughter. And the shrine too, ugh. It's just sad.

My husband and I cried multiple times watching that episode. Being a parent is fucking hard but the thought of losing my kid never fails to make it hard to breathe.
