I just read Selen'as Rolling Stone interview and now I'm really interested in seeing her documentary. Parts of her interview actually made me cry so I imagine the documentary is going to wreck me. I knew about her health struggles with lupus and that she was diagnosed as bipolar, but I didn't realize how bad her mental health got.

Movies I've watched at home lately: Hellraiser (ok), The Thing (very good).

Playoff baseball has really fucked up my movie theater schedule. I still haven't seen Till or Armageddon Time. I have AFI Fest this weekend, but there's gonna be at least one (if not two) World Series games, so I might end up having to skip some stuff. >:/ It's not a huge deal since everything I'm seeing I've either managed to see already (Bones and All) or will be able to see in theaters in the next month (Women Talking, Saint Omer), but I hate that everything overlaps like this in the fall when I know in like, February, I will have no plans for weeks at a time.

I did see Weird last week and enjoyed it. Interested in a bunch of stuff this week: Meet Me in the Bathroom, The Wonder, Good Night Oppy, Causeway, Nocebo. Was supposed to see the Ferragamo doc last night, but y'know, baseball.

Another fun fact about Next Exit, OP -- that's Danny Elfman's daughter! He was sitting right in front of me when I saw it @ TriBeCa and I was like !!!!!!!!! and tried to be calm. (yes, another nepo celeb, but I do think it's a good movie.)

Seeing Armageddon Time tonight and Aftersun (FINALLY) on Sat; I am a Florence stan but I'll wait for Netflix for The Wonder bc I wasn't exactly bowled over by the book. Def interested in Causeway, too.

i checked out desk set (1957) with katharine hepburn and spencer tracy for the first time since i heard it was at least partially a christmas movie and i'm ready to go all in on those. it was co-written by nora ephron's parents, which is funny. i liked it! i did think the back half ran a little long (like 40 minutes take place at the same christmas party) but overall i was charmed by it.

i'm waiting for both the wonder and don't worry darling to hit streaming lol, which will be a lot of florence pugh in a week and a half. ticket to paradise is out on the high seas however and since that just came out in north america i assume it won't be on streaming for a while, so i'll likely check it out this weekend.
