JLaw drops out of Elizabeth Holmes movie Bad Blood after watching Amanda Seyfried in The Dropout

Jennifer Lawrence will no longer star as Elizabeth Holmes in Adam McKay's BAD BLOOD, she told me. She came to that conclusion after watching Amanda Seyfried play Holmes in "The Dropout": "I thought she was terrific. I was like, 'Yeah, we don't need to redo that.' She did it."

she saw the "How to Love" scene and knew she wouldn't be able to top it! i love how she plainly says that Amanda gave the definitive performance, and noting that it would be redundant if they just did the story again. i wish more actors/studios/writers/directors would realize that when trying to make these based-on-a-true-story projects.

i can see the McKay version of this story in my head and i absolutely despise it, so another reason to celebrate. and it makes it funnier that Michael Showalter was involved in The Dropout and that team did it better than McKay would have.

What did we know about McKay’s version? I liked The Dropout and a series can only cover so much, but I felt it skimmed the surface of a lot of the story. I was only curious what someone else would do with the story, though I never felt JLaw could ever reach where Amanda Seyfried did.

we didn't know much about McKay's version i just assume it was going to be smarmy and unsubtle and overall unpleasant with an over reliance on fourth wall breaks because he feels like the audience is too dumb and lazy to follow the story. his post-comedy filmmaking style is basically him making an excellent point, but delivering it in way that just drips with condescension

I need to hurry up and watch this already. I'm excited to see Laurie Metcalf as Phyllis Gardner.

I still think about this clip lol

I think Laurie really captured how deeply unimpressed by Elizabeth Phyllis was.

Omg I saw the headline at 6am my time when I woke up briefly and also thought it said JLO and was like, well yes that’s a reasonable response, why would she do it in the first place ??
