all of the coverage of his book is interesting - obv people are pulling out the juiciest details and name drops bc that's going to be more engaging and get clicks, so idk how much of this kind of hollywood gossip is actually in the book. that said, if his people are dropping these particular excerpts rather than sending the whole book to reviewers/outlets, it feels like a really weird strategy bc it makes him look kind of bitter. i guess i sort of get him being bitter, im sure he has regrets in how he messed up his career and how drugs hurt his relationships and stuff but i think the angle of his growth and personal work is far more compelling than the bitterness.

This happens with every celeb book; it's highly unlikely that it's his people dropping these excerpts -- most likely it's the publisher. They just wanna sell books no matter what and negative headlines generate more publicity.

I thought the same thing about Jenette McCready's book after I read it. The stuff she said about Ariana is what got publicized but those were really tiny parts of the book and there was so much more to it.
