I mean, nobody's perfect and I've definitely seen some incredibly consistent vocalists flub a couple times and that's normal. But I definitely agree that recording artists who are also touring musicians should not be consistently writing material they can't perform at least 75% of the time. Like, Brendon Urie's audience should be able to reasonably expect not to hear one of the most awful vocal crash and burns of all time at every single concert but you know that's what they're gonna get every time.

So, she's basically right but I think she's a bit too exacting and did not phrase it kindly. "Lose respect" is a lot more energy than she should be putting out.

It’s also deflating when singers are worthless antivax trash bags but here we are, Carrie.

Not specifically about hitting notes but Taylor Swift is still enjoying a hugely successful career while being the poster girl for vocal mediocrity, so. (*edit I also remember from previous posts where ONTDers were picking that Tay's live vocals were so poor that they altered them before throwing the footage online. So she can't carry a tune nor does she have a nice voice, Red why can't I quit you?)

Like yes it would be great if the artist I pay to see live can hit their notes, but don’t they also sometimes struggle due to vocal damage and not just because they suck?

This. Her recordings also sound flat and awful. People know what to expect.

I am stunned by her audacity for never even hiring a vocal coach when she NEEDS ONE
