BravoCon 2022 Gets Compared to Fyre Fest

Oct 16, 2022 21:38

I want to be clear: calling #Bravocon “Fyre Festival” was reactive & exaggerative based on that video and our experience with that specific panel.

Yes, there’s been some disorganization but @BravoTV has made clear it’s committed to making this right the rest of the weekend. https://t.co/AO3WxOzJmn

I was there for the RHOBH panel on Friday (the first day). I nearly got knocked over by drunk people running for a seat. There was a significant risk of trampling and my friend and I were both shaken up by it. It made us apprehensive for the rest of the convention. To be fair, they had noticeably more staff and changed processes on Saturday and Sunday but yeah, it was a scary situation. I watch Bravo to laugh and marvel at cosmetic surgery but this convention showed me that there are a decent number of people who take it deadly seriously.

I’m sorry you experienced that. If only the people who did shit like that or bum rushed the lines were kicked out. Because imo that’s absolutely so foul and dangerous.

I was there Sat/Sun and it was nuts. Whenever I go to a Bravo related thing I’m reminded that I’m actually a pretty casual fan, even though among my friends and family I seem like a super-fan.

Also, the bathroom lines, food/drink lines, and lack of water were unacceptable. I felt bad for the Javits staff because they were working so hard and it seemed like they constantly ran out of things (wine at the bar, water).

My bff and I paid for a Bravopalooza add on which was the only time we felt calm and comfortable. That said, the food there (which was part of the added cost) was so shitty, there wasn’t enough, the bar was out of most everything (again, part of the added cost) and it felt like all weekend we were living on Lays chips.

If I ever go again, I’ll be waiting a few years. I don’t know if I’d even pay for VIP or SVIP unless I could do just one day.

Idk my close friend is there and she sent me the cutest drunk voice text earlier and she said she was having the best time of her life! They had an open bar and she had just met her ultimate fave Tom Schwartz.

the behavior at this year’s bravocon has been insane from both the fans and the “bravolebrities.” it’s crazy how people are shelling out thousands just to be in the same room as these people, getting crushed in stampedes, standing in hours long lines, and sometimes not even meeting who they paid to meet. like I need some of these people to touch some grass.

and the reality stars have been acting so fucking entitled like they’re A-listers or something. like you’re all D-list AT BEST. I’ve heard of some people not showing up to their meet and greets and generally being nasty to fans… and then there’s people like vicki from RHOC who legit had fans CRYING when they met her and I just know it blew up her big head even more. it’s just crazy.

I said it was like Jurassic Park. You’d hear shrieks like a distant dinosaur and then a stampede with screams.
