shangela is being robbed a bit ngl, she's not worse than heidi but she's being scored that way for some reason.

glad mark came back just so he could give us a simpsons routine, lol

I agree - her dancing has been consistently good but her scores have stayed with the middle of the pack/bad dancers. It's especially noticeable now that the judges have broken the seal on awarding 9s. I didn't think Heidi's performance was as amazing as the judges said. Most of the credit for that routine goes to Artem because he choreographed a routine to help her look good.

ngl i put some of the blame for shangela being in the middle of the pack the last few weeks on gleb, i feel like he's let her down choreo wise. he def stepped it up a bit this week though so hopefully that trend continues! she has so much potential to make it to the finals, i would hate for her to be lost in the shuffle

artem is definitely in his bag this year with heidi tbh, credit to him for that

I agree that Gleb’s choreography was to blame in some cases. Artem knows how to give Heidi choreography that accentuates her strengths and gloss over her weaknesses. Gleb’s routines, on the other hand, seem like he created a generic beginner routine without taking into account Shangela’s specific strengths and weaknesses. She’s a great dancer so there’s mo reason why she should ever look less than fabulous.

I really hate that this show treats jazz as carte blanche to do anything. Jazz is an actual dance style. Both the pros and the judges know that. But for some reason, they get away with treating jazz as the freestyle category where anything goes. What Brandon choreographed for Jordin was not a jazz routine. I get that the pros are supposed to be ballroom experts so I'm totally fine with them not being jazz experts. But get someone else to help you create a routine instead of throwing together a faux ballroom routine and pretending it's jazz.

The judges dock points when the pros don't put enough specific content of the style they've been assigned whenever it's a ballroom style, and they should do the same for jazz.

i liked jordin’s routine this week but you’re spot on about that barely resembling jazz dancing, lol. brandon is crosstrained in a variety of styles iirc so he doesn’t rly have much of an excuse.

The judges were very complimentary of Jesse’s dance but her hunched shoulders took me right out. Also, I haven’t watched HP2 yet so is there a reason she was dressed as Sarah instead of Winnifred other than wanting to be the sexy sister?

When will Vinny go home? He is bad.
