This looks sooooooo good. The cast is stacked and Del Toro has great taste so I bet the anthology is decent. Netflix gonna deliver this Halloween.

I wonder if it's just the way they cut the trailer, but this seems more explicitly horror/jump scares than del Toro normally does. I normally like that his stuff is disturbing without being traditional horror.

he didn't direct any of the episodes so maybe that's why? it's all other horror directors

Yes, I guess I just thought the purpose of calling it "his" cabinet of curiosities was that it would be more in line with his usual vibe. The branding decision is interesting!

He's not directed any of it. But the cinematographer of his films has directed one of the episodes.
