"To this day, it's something very hard for me to overcome" https://t.co/4muPek0bUV - NME (@NME) September 27, 2022 Moretz, 25, has revealed how a Family Guy-related meme about her body negatively impacted her life

I remember that in Family Guy, but I’ve never seen this meme. I have to admit that I didn’t get it, until I read the full quote. I thought it was a “she has great long legs” comparison. Are they saying she has a short torso, because I don’t think she does?
IIRC the picture of her was photoshopped to look disproportionate? The photo included here is super normal to me, but I remember it looking very exaggerated (like basically removed the middle part of her body so it looked just like the Family Guy character.)
Everyone was making fun of my body, and I brought it up with someone, and they were like, ‘Oh, shut the fuck up, it’s funny.'
I hope that person is no longer a part of her life tbh. If a person I even minimally respect brings up something that bothers them, I just quit doing it. It doesn't matter if you think it's stupid or that they're overreacting - it's not about you. Don't actively choose to be an asshole to people who are just minding their own business.
obviously, yes, i stop doing things that bother my friends without needing an explanation. and i hope i'd never tell a friend to shut the fuck up if they're upset.
but i do think it helps to check your friends sometimes though. like, "hey, chloe, i think you're disproportionally upset about this thing, do you want to talk about it?" which may be at the heart of what their friend was getting at. unless they were truly being an ass
I know youre giving a hypothetical situation, but I dont think you can say that it's an overreaction unless you've been made into a bodyshaming internet meme.
Some people are just not emotionally intelligent/empathetic and it shows with responses like the one her friend gave her.
People are awful about her body type and there's nothing wrong with it; she just has broad shoulders and a short torso and is built more like a gymnast and there's nothing wrong with that. She has wonderful legs and always seems to be sweet.
i completely understand that being compared to an unflattering character is difficult and we are all sensitive to the flaws we perceive in ourselves regardless of whether others would notice them. tall, skinny, short, pale, tan, curvy, whatever - everyone has their own "things"
that said, i always thought her legs looked bomb in these pics.
Yeah I don't think the meme is meant to be mean-spirited, a funny resemblance in a photo is different than a blanket comment on her actual body. But it's really understandable how she feels about it
