I haven’t watched any of this season yet because I’m nervous about a downturn in quality and I fucking hated how she treated her husband. Is it worth it or should I just move on?
Kind of too early to tell, for this season. First two episodes were directed by Moss, and I hate her style of directing - everything draaaaaaggggss, 80% of shots are just June glowering at the camera, etc. But episode 2 was pretty good, episode 3 was okay. Waiting to see how the rest of it pans out. Not as good as earlier seasons, but not bad either.
You should be tbh. I watched it as soon as it came out and it was pretty much everything I feared it would be. They should have made this the final season. First three eps went nowhere.
I'm only a few minutes into the new episode and I'm already sick of every June close-up that has yet to come. Stooooop. I feel like I know the pores on Elizabeth Moss' face better than my own.
forgot this show was back, but also tbh it feels like it's going in circles... June is unstable, Serena stares coldly into distance, Janine gets tortured in the worst way but still survives. If there's another moment where June gets snatched back to Gilead I will fucking quit lol
Thisss. They've hit the same beats over and over. It's the same thing that happens with most hit shows where the execs have too much creative control for $$$ reasons - plot doesn't progress for shit and character development stalls or just goes to crazy places because things have to be dragged out for more seasons.
