You may have heard quick blips about this story awhile back, NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre got roped into something about receiving money from embezzled funds. The welfare funds were intended for Mississippi's TANF program (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). Mississippi is the poorest and lowest supported state in the nation

I saw Bryant was being implicated in defrauding the US gov over this and I really hope something comes of this. Bryant is an asshole but he’s just one in a long line of assholes. Tate is no better with his giant water truck sitting outside the governors mansion while the rest of Jackson and surrounding areas are without usable water.

I’m from MS and most of my friends are just waiting and hoping Bryant and Favre are taken down over this.

That said, because of this, and because Tate sucks as a human being and as a gov (and also because Trump sucks and she admits it), my conservative mother is now voting Democrat in all upcoming elections.

Same. And it’s refreshing to hear that assholes can only go so far before people pull their support and I see it happening a lot more.

But tbh, my moms change started around the time of the pandemic. She’s always been open to listening to me ramble about things, but she actually started listening in 2020. And tbh, being able to SHOW her things that were happening (like on tiktok) definitely helped. Like nothing better than backing up your claims that people are suffering by being able to show it. But we’re both stuck here in MS, we both just want someone in MS who has the peoples’ best interests at heart and we haven’t had that for YEARS.

But as for this case, the local paper just posted about how Bryant pulled funding from two anti-poverty non profits because the heads of them voted Democrat. Some former pro wrestler was working with them when it happened.

I hope this is the start of all these people crashing and burning.

Also in MS and I hate these mf’ers so much. I do not understand how these vile scumbags can live with themselves. But then I think how many there are and how I know so many corrupt fucks in this state. It’s like you cut the head off one and 3 grow back.
I am so glad to have the perspective and heart to see how fucked up it all is. I can’t move, but I am loudly anti-conservative, anti-republican, anti-religion. And there are dozens of us, truly. But it’s just so disheartening to see these people get off with a slap on the wrist if anything. I want Bryant in prison. I want Reeves in prison. I want a fucking leader with morals!!! The story the journalist revealed in the above clip about the man who lost his kids because of homelessness and was turned away from recieving assistance breaks my heart. The way that rich people can use their influence to take away resources from those who need it is insidious.
