I saw Pearl yesterday and was pretty disappointed. Much preferred X. Seeing Don't Worry, Darling tomorrow even though I know it's going to be messy

Tomorrow See How They Run, Saturday Corsage (loved the summary and reviews I read about it so fingers crossed). Still thinking about with which film to finish of this film weekend.

I am of course seeing Don't Worry Darling. I couldn't get good seats in Dolby til Saturday, so hoping any Harry Styles related vocal audience fangirling is over by then.

Catherine Called Birdy and Lou both look intriguing to me as well.

Just saw The Woman King last night.

The positives - great to see an action flick with so many black women on screen, and I would like to see more of that! Lashana Lynch was the highlight for me. I don't know how in the fuck Thuso Mbedu is 31 years old - she looks SO YOUNG - but she was also very good. Loved the costuming + the action choreo, which was fairly easy to follow. Really loved the knife on a rope!!

The negatives - [Spoiler (click to open)]hated the "Nawi, I'm your mother" storyline so much!! Why?!?! It didn't need to be there, it added superfluous running time, it was emotionally manipulative... was not a fan of that *at all*. Felt the script could have used more tightening overall, but it's an action movie so I get it.

Overall, I enjoyed it!

Also saw Moonage Daydream, which is probably gonna alienate a lot ( ... )
