ignoring the messy rowling in the room right now, it's weird this one company got attacked when WB legit announces a new HP collab almost every week

there are SO many companies that have HP lines released, even new ones, so i'm wondering why this one got singled out

I was so disappointed to see that American Girl had a collab with HP. I would’ve been allllll over that as a kid.

Oh. Wonderful. She’s taking it a step further: “transwomen are men and should be banned from bathrooms because they’re rapists”https://t.co/dLjUPp0QW2

i would love a legit, simple ass reason as to what trans people did to her for her to hate them this much (or at least, what her deluded ass thinks they did to her, which i doubt is nothing). like i honestly think it's something personal for this level of vitriol

like, did a transwoman tell her she had terrible eyebrows? get over it, Joanne.

for real, like this personal vendetta sounds exactly like she thinks a trans person wronged her (and i doubt it) and she's just gone so fucking overboard to vilify the entire community. people got grudges, but they don't spew bullshit against it to millions of people almost every day, fucking hell

I’m supposed to go to sleep and I’m so tired that for a second I didn’t understand why people were mad at a HP makeup line. That was a v nice second.

But yeah, sadly this franchise still represents piles of money in collabs and projects. So I doubt we’ll stop seeing these things (also movies, videogames and clothing lines) for the time being. It’s just really tiring to see it, and also the fake support and innocent dance that comes with it.

While people who made harry potter their whole personality were always a bit much I have to say the people who now are STILL clawing tooth and nail to keep engaging it/its new products while ALSO insisting they don't believe in her stances or 'are separating art from artist' are the most obnoxious ( ... )

It's literally SO easy to stop giving JKR money these days. I was a very involved fan and I'll still always have a place in my heart for those books, but I'm completely disinterested in doing anything but occasionally reading some fanfic or talking about some aspect of the world with my partner/friends. The products hold no appeal for me, especially knowing they'll continue to enrich an already-wealthy bigot.

Whadda you mean, the book sprung up without a writer?

No wait. EMMA WATSON actually write the book.

Own it or don’t. I’m in 1000% agreement with you.
