Sometimes, as the title implies, an awful movie ends up with a confusingly good soundtrack. Maybe the director/producer had connections. Perhaps it was a big-budget movie that had the ca$h to blow on the rights to use the music, but the movie itself was butchered in post. Or they used black magic. Who knows

I guess it doesn't count, because it's the score, not actual songs. But the King Arthur Charlie Hunnam movie. Also when I was a kid and obsessed with the first Narnia movie, it didn't click for me that all the Inspired By songs were by Christian singers until I got older. Which... pans out lmao.

I was going to say the soundtrack sucked as a whole, but when I Googled it did had some great songs but I feel like it missed the mark though. The songs that made the movie where missing and I spent a very long time trying to track them down in the days of Napster.

My pick would have to be the Wicker Park soundtrack. I used to watch that movie just for the music (especially the last scene where The Scientist plays).
