No amount of money would ever silence me if this had happened to my daughter. But those parents lying for 79K. It illustrates how R Kelly targeted people in Chicago who were likely poor.

Jim DeRogatis, the Chicago Sun-Times reporter who broke the R. Kelly story in 2000, was subpoenaed by the defense. He refused to testify (he was also named as a witness for the defense during Robert's 2008 trial and he refused to testify then as well).

They really tried to make the guy who first exposed him answer questions...

Tbh it would have worked against the defense especially when the plaintiff's lawyers cross examined him

He claimed that until this trial, he believed Robert was innocent. He said that during the course of this trial, he learned about things he had no idea about back then and that he's now embarrassed and sad.

"I am now beyond the point at which I can even semi-plausibly act like he's innocent so I'm going to pretend this is all brand new information"
