i feel like they wanted more seasons but with tnt stopping w/ scripted programming they had to make this the last and jam everything into it. seasons 5 and 6 were not as good as the rest but i still love it and i'm gonna miss the show overall!
[Spoiler (click to open)] regarding the finale: WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT BILLY WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACTUAL VOICE OF REASON THEY SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO?? fucking j. and omg craig's death. i thought he might die tbh and dying from a gun a literal child shot him with is such a craig way to go lmao. poor ren and nick though :( i loved the final showdown between j and pope with j finally letting his true hatred of the family out. he continues to be cold as fuck with what he did to penny.. poor girl was completely innocent. everyone knew pope would be a goner but it was still sad to see. I WISH DERAN HAD REAL CLOSURE :( :( they need to pull an el camino of deran escaping to indonesia and reuniting with adrian. he's fucked though.. on the run by himself with absolutely nothing. i'm gonna miss this horrible family lmao.
I assumed that once again Billy would screw Deran over (because when hasn't Billy taken an opportunity to screw over the Codys?). When he advised Deran not to go through with this plan, I thought FINALLY, someone with an ounce of sense!
the deran and craig final scene absolutely broke my heart. i think i liked this finale because damn i didnt expect it to get to me. smurf is an absolute monster and her coldbloodedness reminded me of my moms sometimes. i know people think pope is a creep but he reminded me a lot of me (minus mb the weird incest vibes w his sis lol) he has lots of autistic traits and he was broken beyond repair by smurf.
finn cole is a phenomenal actor, the last shot was amazing, i hate him lol but also feels conflicted cos i understand wanting revenge bc ur own family did nothing when u needed them the most.
ill miss this flop show lol, the codys was my fave white family

[Spoiler (click to open)] deran holding craig as he died my heartttttt. jake weary needs to get better acting roles now that the show is over because he's been acting the hell out of his scenes throughout the whole series
As sad as it was, I thought he found the perfect way to let him go (looking at the ocean while his brother reassured him).
My only minor quibble was the promise to take care of Nick and Renn because I have no idea how he plans to follow through with that with no money, no passport, etc. I know he has the various skills to eventually get himself more money but it's going to be a lot harder for him to pull jobs by himself and save enough money to get out of the country.
