Laika hits all of the creative points for me except voice acting. I get why but I would be nice, at least, the sprinkled legit VAs in here and give them a shot.

The description sounds that way, but I’ve read the book and the little brother being taken is about the only similarity I can recall. The “enchanted wonderland” is more like the regular world only there’s magic and like talking animals who wear clothes and are at war with each other. In some ways it feels like Narnia mixed with Over the Garden Wall.

Oh no, I haven't! I just love all their films a lot and have always resented how overlooked they and other animation studios are in favor of Disney. What should I be reading up about???
