This is one of my favourite books EVER. I think prior to this, there were longstanding rumours about Kenneth Branagh playing this role (no thank you).

I'm excited, I listened to the audiobook and it was a charming experience. My job at the time was dull so this transported me elsewhere for those hours.

Erm. This book is thoughts and flash-backs -- how the hecka are you going to turn this into a series? I love how Amor creates an atmosphere of ~no thoughts just vibes~ but ... they're going to turn this into an action series won't they?

i don't remember there being too many flashbacks in this book? and it is slow but stuff definitely does happen, it just all takes place in the hotel

Maybe I mix up my reads, but I thought his pondering definitely goes to short scenes that play out his thoughts/memories?

I can see them focusing on Nina, Sophia, the actress, the Count's sister and his return to Russia, Paris, the thematic talks about Galileo and Tolstoy can go into one scene over dinner and wine.

This is one of my favorite books in the entire world but I’m so curious how they are going to make it into something for screen

I've never heard of this book but having read the plot summary....I'm sorry, what? Is this Oblomov without the satire?

i need to give this book a second chance. i absolutely loved the rules of civility (which i'm honestly surprised hasn't been adapted yet) but had a hard time getting into this one. maybe i just wasn't in the right headspace at the time.
