The animated film was one of the least watched movies of the Disney catalog for me as a child. It always made me incredibly sad (along with Dumbo). I always remember crying my head off when he drowns and then is lying dead on the bed. It was too much for my sensitive self.

this sounds so silly, but that movie used to give me real nightmares as a kid. the subplot about the boys turning into donkeys? the whole vibe of that movie was pure stress/anxiety. i don't think i've seen it since i was maybe 10... and no interest in revisiting it lol

I love Dumbo, but also bawl my eyes out each time. I just love elephants in general and I don't like seeing them separated from each other.
