I watched this when it premiered on Crave. The visceral reaction I had when I heard he was being freed after some stupid legal loophole was exposed was unreal. The amount of harm he’s caused is insurmountable and his freedom is another slap in the face. Fuck Cosby, his enablers and defenders for life.

Gonna find it for the follow up panel. I did watch it soon after it aired and it was a fucking RIDE. Holy fuck.

Are you referring specifically to the documentary or to the abuse that Cosby committed?

I remember seeing stories about the accusations in the early 2000s on the tabloids at the grocery stores. I sometimes would grab them coming into the stores and read them while following my mom around.

the abuse, in the early 2000s the only tabloid i read was weekly world news (which was all fake news and weird photoshopped images lol). so i was very up to date on bat boy but never knew about this at all until 2014

He def had allegations in the past prior to Hannibal’s skit but because of his popularity/legacy he was able to have it buried.

the end of this episode where they lay out a timeline of Cosby’s career in the sixties and then play the testemony and show the pictures of his victims and it’s like eight women in less than a five year span (the eight we know about at least)…that’s really stuck with me since I first watched this doc

1000000%

I'm so exhausted from the state of the world and how women continue to be treated that I've had to stop listening/reading the news and limit my time on social media for my own sanity. It's WAY too much with no end in sight.

Every time I think that maybe I can lower my anti-depressant, something shockingly upsetting happens that I'm like, maybe I should up it. All we can do rn is look out for ourselves and each other and protect our mental health as best we can - whatever that means for you 💜

choosing not to watch violence of various types is something I engage in all the time. media (social & television/film) can be incredibly toxic, and it takes work to protect your mental health. it's good to know that, recognize it, and act to protect yourself imo.

Same, I’m barely keeping my head above water as is.
