Just wanna bitch for a second. I follow Maika Monroe on instagram - not just because of my current massive fan crush on her partner (although there is that), but also because she’s gorgeous and I love her movies.

But anyway, the complete comfort her followers have giving detailed analysis -*in her comments section*- of how/why they think she’s been dumped if she doesn’t post pictures of said boyfriend regularly enough? Fucking gross. It seems like she runs her own account too.

(Also, like, whether the two of them are currently dating or not - none of my business - the idea that going on a vacation without your boyfriend means you’re broken up? Tell me you’ve never been in a long term relationship, without telling me you’ve never been in one.)

I always feel bad for the gfs/wives of white faves bc their fandoms are almost exclusively vicious. Maika is so interesting (as an actress and to look at), I want her to have a bigger career.

Same. She’s a good actress and mutlitalented. And then she had a comment a few weeks ago telling her she should be dumped because she “looks like Amber Heard.” Because that’s how we judge actresses, apparently. (And she gets less hate than some, probably because they’ve been together for a long time, and are low key.) People are gross.

I saw those comments and was annoyed enough to text someone about it because I hate how fans think they *know* shit based on some social media posts and few public appearances. I could never be in the public eye. It's extra ridiculous in this case because she was wearing Djo merch on her trip to Greece last month and just posted Joe's dog last week on her ig stories but of course that was left out of that person's list of ~observations~. Stans see what they want to see, I guess.

Glen Close’s post reminds me: it bums me out I’ve gotten to the point an American flag being displayed by someone makes me immediately on guard that they’re a giant violent racist asshole.

That's how I feel about the brazilian flag 💔 The braindead fascist conservatives of my country usurped it as their uniform, so I'm immediately assume the worst when I see someone with it. But we've been trying to reclaim it, especially this year since we'll hopefully be rid off the monster we call a president.
