Monster Mania con is a good time tho. I went to the baltimore one a few years ago and went to the panel for Malcolm McDowell. He was so funny. His panel was like a one man show. He didn't even really need his moderator.
Also sat for the rose mcgowan panel who said that *she* is the one who saved charmed from being cancelled after shannon doherty left. She was at the con around the time there was that warrant out for her arrest too lol.

It was Louise Fletcher (Kai Winn) Bonita Fiedericy (rRooney/Borg in an ENT episode & John Billingsley's wife) Richard Heard (Tom Paris' father) Alan Ruck (Captain Harriman) Dwight Schultz (Barclay) and just before the moderator announces the last guest, Kate Vernon (Valerie Archer/a member of species 8472) he says that they have an addition to the lineup, so new that he didn't have an official paper, just a scrap that someone wrote on. Then he goes on to announce Malcom McDowell! I was like; I just saw that dude having coffee*! So I was way more excited than I should've been ( ... )

Yes. His mother was McDowell's older sister. She met his father in the 1960s when she traveled to Sudan with a friend. According to Wikipedia.
For a while he refused to answer any questions about Star Trek because he was mad at Paramount for not letting him take a few days off from that press tour for director Lindsay Anderson's funeral.
I didn't know that. I guess by 2009 he made peace with it.
And to Hell with Paramount for doing that!

A part of me feels bad because he had a traumatic brain injury and that’s obviously affected his behavior but… yeah. Absolutely no excuse for sexual assault.
