i imagine one of the hardest parts about being a model is having absolutely no agency over your body. you can specify boundaries but it doesn't mean anything. if you "choose" to leave the situation to protect yourself you are potentially doing irreparable harm to your career.

there was an insta (idk if it is still going) that was posting anonymous messages of model's being harassed and assaulted in their career. it was devastating. and nobody thinks twice. i don't know if this has improved now. i would assume not really

Yep. If you say something you're "difficult to work with" and it would be so easy to get blacklisted for not wanting to go along with a shoot.

Your icon is (gorgeous) and reminded me of how it’s almost always true for actresses too, like Sydney and Euphoria :’(

how old was she ? was she a minor? where were her parents? who was her manager? Fuck Ritts for this, but so much had to happen for him to be able to do this.

If it was shot in 1992 she was 18. She was scouted when she was 14 and there was even less oversight then (still not nearly enough today). ):

I really feel for her. I actually don't think I'd ever seen those photos before but I looked them up after this post and yikes.

I’m glad she’s speaking her truth but OMG I can imagine the million more models who’ve been through similar or worse.

This reminded me of the transparent backstage show that among others Kate was in.Everyone decried these ads and everyone called them prudes. Today it would be ok Boomer, or ok Karen. The designers in Europe always did this with Americans who dared speak up and kids who wanted to seem cool and sophisticated would parrot this.

I STILL see this all the time and I'm like... I'm sry but the idea of "puritanical prude Americans" is so dead at this point all western cultures are pretty similarly porn sick and oversexualized lol.

Isaac Mizrahi groped Scarlett Johansson at the Golden Globes. He also tried to pull Teri Hatcher’s dress down, and asked Eva Longoria what her pubic hair was like.
