it's amazing to me how effective that scene is in Nope when none of the attack is shown on screen. it still haunts me, tbh.

Horror/sci-fi films rarely affect me to the point of nightmares, but the night after I watched NOPE, I had a nightmare where a pack of wolves was chasing and attacking me in a snow field. That scene really burrowed into my psyche, apparently.

My family barely talks, but we watched Nope together recently and it’s so funny how many theories/analyses we’ve passed around after.

That’s what I really like about Jordan’s movies- they don’t really outright make me jump - the implications of the scenes are enough

I’m glad we’re getting to the point where we can use CGI animals and protect animals and the cast and crews of films from being in a dangerous or stressful situation. Because creating a dangerous scenario like a child actor cuddling a chimp is never necessary.

I had no idea chimps were dangerous..because of these scenes.....they couldn't use a more friendly animal?

A woman in CT got her face ripped off by her friend's chimp years ago - it was horrific, and she ended up getting a face transplant, but had to live the rest of her life in a care facility (she has since passed away).
