No, just as an honorable mention. negl I enjoyed the book until I found more accurate stories from geisha and not a white man from the US South.

I was an otaku type so I knew it was inaccurate, and then on top of that I found the depictions of losing her virginity almost literally vomit inducing and awful, I truly hated it lol.

I just watched Sunshine within the past couple of years and really liked it - great cast, good atmosphere, and the Garland/Boyle writer/director combo really works. Don't read the blurb about it the source if you haven't seen it and plan to, there are spoilers.

I've seen about half of these films, but not Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon... should probably remedy that at some point!

sunshine is so good! the last act is divisive but i love it. i haven't seen enough of these and her birthday seems like a good occasion to fix that, going to scour my streaming services later to see what they've got available
