Wait is she calling herself a POC now? I know she may have gained some perspective since then, but I remember her very proudly sharing that she wasn’t Mexican but American and didn’t speak Spanish. It’s just.. hmm.

I think more recently she talked about how her mexican grand father refused to teach spanish to his kids because he didn't want them to feel foreign

I think it's the case for a lot of immigrants with their kids

My grand father was like that
He felt his kids had to "fit in" to avoid discrimination

I mean, yeah, even with more diversity in phase 4 and with Eternals being the most diverse film so far, overall…it’s still pretty white.

Well she ain’t wrong on that part. Still tho they looooove to whitewash anything that came from the material sources and are obsessed with it maybe even to this day. They do deserve the flak & getting dragged thru filth for it. It’d be too naive to say there’s some hopes in that there’s progressive action and positive representations on this rather than making diversity points for it.
