Demi Lovato has premiered the music video for "SUBSTANCE," the second single off her forthcoming eighth studio album HOLY FVCK. Directed by Cody Critcheloe (also known as singer-songwriter SSION), it features cameos by Paris Hilton and drag illusionist Demetria Cherry

as a demi fan i have pretty much been "whelmed" by their new songs.

they are fun and catchy but the songs released until now feel a bit unpolished and unfinished, and the lyrics seem to (no pun intended) lack any substance in order to target the largest group of tiktok teens possible so they are able to easily relate no matter what. like this one feels like it has no actual beginning or build up, which disappoints me because i was looking forward to the return of pop-rock demi.

if the other songs keep the pattern of the singles, i feel like this album will be easy and catchy and fun to listen over and over, but won't have the dept and impact (or demonstrate their actual talent) like previous albums. for example dancing with the devil is not an album i listen to its entirety a lot due to how heavy it can be, but i love it as an album and truly think it was amazingly written and composed (tho tmylm remains their magnum opus).
