In "why the fuck would you say that out loud?" news, Jamie Lee Curtis assumed Ana de Armas was "unsophisticated" while filming Knives Out.

Curtis showed her ass for an Elle profile on De Armas, saying, "I assumed - and I say this with real embarrassment - because she had come from Cuba, that she had just arrived. I made an assumption that she was an inexperienced, unsophisticated young woman. That first day, I was like, ‘Oh, what are your dreams?'"

Ana de Armas had by that point been working for over a decade in Cuban and Spanish productions, starting in 2006. She had worked in Hollywood productions since 2014,

Curtis added that she was so impressed with de Armas’ performance in Knives Out that she offered to introduce her to Steven Spielberg so de Armas could play Maria in the “West Side Story” or to introduce de Armas to her godchildren Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal.

However, De Armas already knew Jake and had plenty of A-lister connections already, including a friendship with former co-star Keanu Reeves. De Armas is now set to star in Reeves’ “John Wick” spin-off film “Ballerina,” which will be penned by Oscar winner Emerald Fennell.
